Our Impact
Our Story
Joyful Souls Support is a registered NDIS business operating in Central Australia built on a simple belief: everyone deserves to live a life filled with connection, choice and potential. We provide personalised, person-centred support that helps people build confidence, independence and meaningful relationships while pursuing the goals that matter most to them.
Guided by our philosophy of 'do with, not for', we work alongside participants, families, carers and the wider community to create opportunities for people to grow, contribute and thrive. Our commitment to genuine relationships, cultural respect and high-quality support creates an environment where people feel seen, heard and empowered.
Inspired by "The Joyful One", whose kindness and joy continue to shape our purpose, we are committed to building inclusive communities and creating positive, lasting impact across Central Australia—one relationship at a time.

Where our story began
At the heart of Joyful Souls Support is someone very special to us: ‘The Joyful One’.
A beloved family member who lived with Down syndrome, he was known for his kindness, encouragement and infectious joy. Although he is no longer with us, the way he approached life and the people around him continues to inspire who we are and what we want to create for others.
Our beginnings were also shaped by our experience in education. We saw first-hand the difference that supportive environments, meaningful relationships and opportunities to learn and participate could make in a person's life. But we also saw how quickly some of those opportunities could disappear once school finished.
Families were asking an important question: what comes next? They wanted the connection, growth and possibility experienced at school to continue into adult life. We listened.
Joyful Souls Support was created to help bridge that gap—providing safe, meaningful and genuinely person-centred support that continues to create opportunities for people beyond school.
From the beginning, one idea has shaped the way we work: ‘do with, not for’.
For us, good support isn't about taking over. It's about working alongside each person, recognising their strengths, listening to their choices and creating opportunities to build skills, confidence and independence through shared effort.
That approach continues to guide how we work with participants today. Our support is individualised and participant-led, focused on independence and choice, and built collaboratively with families, carers and others involved in each person's life.

Growing with our community
What began as a small, local support has grown into a trusted, community-led registered NDIS provider supporting people with disability in Alice Springs.
As we've grown, we've held onto the relationships and values that shaped us from the beginning. Today, our diverse team works alongside participants, families, Coordinators of Support and community partners to support genuine choice and control and create opportunities for independence, friendship, fun and growth.
Our connection to the community also extends beyond the supports funded through a person's NDIS plan. We reinvest our own profits and community fundraising into additional experiences, activities and opportunities that help people connect, grow and enjoy life. For us, inclusion isn't limited to funded support—it means finding more ways for people to participate, contribute and belong.

Who we are today
Today, Joyful Souls Support is defined as much by how we work as by the services we provide.
We're a team that believes genuine care and professional excellence go hand in hand. We take time to understand the person, build relationships based on trust and respect, and provide safe, reliable and high-quality support.
We're proudly Central Australian and deeply connected to the people and communities around us. Those relationships—with participants, families, our team, referrers, businesses, government and community organisations—help us create opportunities that reach beyond individual support and contribute to a more inclusive community.
We provide excellence in CARE
We take the time to understand each person—their needs, choices, goals, culture and lived experience. We listen first, build genuine relationships and provide safe, reliable and personalised support that people and families can trust.
Our Values
We are building an
inclusive
COMMUNITY
We believe belonging is more than simply being included. We create opportunities for people to participate, build relationships, pursue their interests and be active members of their community. By helping everyone feel valued and able to contribute, we help build stronger, more connected communities.
We CHAMPION CONTRIBUTION
and
CAREERS
We believe everyone has something valuable to contribute. For participants, that means creating opportunities to build skills, confidence and independence and pursue meaningful goals. For our team, it means investing in development, recognising their contribution and supporting rewarding careers.
We influence
positive
CHANGE
We believe positive change is built through the choices, opportunities and relationships we create every day. By working alongside participants, families and our community, we aim to create an impact that reaches beyond the individual and contributes to stronger families and more inclusive communities.
We are
CAPABLE
We bring together capable people, professional practice and genuine care to provide high-quality support. We invest in our team, keep learning and look for practical ways forward when challenges arise—always focused on providing the best possible support.

Looking ahead
Strategic Plan
2026–2029
Our story is still being written.
Through our Strategic Plan 2026–2029, we're focused on strengthening the quality and impact of our support while continuing to grow as a capable, responsive and sustainable organisation. Our priorities include providing excellence in care, building an inclusive community, championing contribution and careers, influencing positive change and strengthening our organisational capability.
That means continuing to invest in our people, create pathways for learning and employment, strengthen relationships across the disability sector and wider community, and make sure participants and families have genuine opportunities to influence the decisions that affect them.
As we grow, the purpose remains the same: to create joyful connections, inclusive communities and lasting impact, while making sure every person we work alongside feels safe, heard and empowered.

Respecting culture, identity and choice
At Joyful Souls Support, cultural respect is part of providing genuinely person-centred support.
We recognise that every person brings their own identity, culture, experiences, relationships and ways of understanding the world. We take the time to listen and understand what matters to each person so that the support we provide respects who they are, the choices they make and the communities they belong to.
Our commitment to cultural respect sits alongside our commitment to choice, connection and genuine care. It means working with, not for, participants and their families, listening to their perspectives and involving them in decisions about their support.
We want every person who connects with Joyful Souls Support to feel safe, heard, respected and empowered.
